St. Xavier's Wins Best Outstation College at Kaleidoscope, Mumbai

Eeshan Usapkar(FYBSc), Asten Singh (SYBA) won the 1st, 2nd place respectively at Elocution Contest for NCC cadets held at S.P. Chowgule College on 13th September 2008.

Zen Lobo(SYBSc) is awarded the Green Ray Foundations GAIA environmental
scholarship for the year 2008-09. He will work on the
project "Environmental degradation of Mapusa river" under Mr. Nelson
Lobo (Physics Dept).

St. Xavier's retains the University
Championship thrashing Dhempe College, Panjim 20-3 in the finals at
PCCE Grounds on 20th September 08. Michelle Fernandes (8 pts),
Lovena Pinto (4 pts), Mysha D’Souza (3 pts),
Leona Fernandes (2 pts) and Alisha
D’Mello
(2 pts) converted for the winners. The chief guest on the occasion, Alex Sequeira, Minister
for Power, awarded medals and trophies to the winners and runners-up.

St. Xavier's Boys got the Runnerup place
loosing to the hosts PCCE College, Verna in the finals on 20th September 08.
The boys team had earlier reached the finals of
a Invitation Basketball tournament organised by Don Bosco College, Panjim.
In the finals Clive Dias (18 pts),
Johan Braganza (7 pts), Julian Pinto
(6 pts) and Ross Rangel (6 pts) played
well for St Xavier’s.
