Prayers

The first lecture of each day begins with a non-denominational prayer written and read by students themselves. This prayer is not of particular religion but only to invoke blessing of almighty. Top

 

Teacher-Mentor Programme

Each teacher is made mentor of about twenty students. Mentor is responsible for these students. Role of the mentor is to guide and counsel these students. Mentor also monitors the absentee report of those students and it’s in contact with their parents. Top

 

Assessment of Teachers by Students

The students evaluate Teachers. There is prescribed form wherein students express their opinion of their teachers, office and library. These forms are thereafter given to the respective teacher who studies and tabulates the assessments made by students. Teachers get opportunity to know the opinions of the students about him/her and hence are able to apply corrective measures to improve. Top

 

Attendance

During each lecture, attendance is taken. At the end of the month if the student is found absent sometimes, the student is called and warned, and if absent many times their parents are also informed through mentor. Top

 

Monthly Departmental Meetings

Monthly meetings of the faculty members in the department are conducted in order to monitor the work progress. Top

 

Assignments

Each teacher gives a fortnightly assignment to the students. The topic of the assignment is either from prescribed syllabus or some relevant useful topic. The student has to refer journals from library, Internet etc and prepare the report and has to submit it to the concern teacher, though this does not form part of the final mark list. Top

 

Personal Identity

Everyone in the campus has to wear identity card with lanyard around the neck. One can identify from the color of lanyard whether that person is Teaching staff or non-teaching staff or student. Students are also identified in terms of their stream or years. Top

 

Value Education

One lecture per week on value education is offered to all students. The lecture method is avoided but brainstorming and quizzing methods are used. Without any pressure, these sessions attract all students. Top

 

Faculty Improvement Programme

This Annual three-day programme helps teachers in their personal development. Resource persons of this programme are the experts in the respective field. Top

 

My Job and My Hobbies Programme

Each teacher invites a professional to deliver talk to the students. Top

 

Blue Channel Admissions

For economically backward students on the payment of a token sum of one rupee. Top

Green Channel Admission

Hassle free admission for meritorious students. Top

 

GSCOPE

Goa Study Circle of Physical Educationists and Exercise Scientists it involves participation of faculty in intercollegiate tournaments. Top

 

Peer Support

A system to encourage mutual help among students. Top

 

Performance Portfolio Card

It is a record of outstanding performance of the student in extra curricular activities. Top

Gymnasium

There exists well-equipped gymnasium in the college premises. Top

 

Ruby Jubilee Book Bank Scheme

Under this scheme a deserving student with a good academic record is entitled for the whole academics year from the college library. Top

 

Young Students Search Research Programme

FY SY students were asked to present papers at the time of admission on certain topics like salt, etc. Top

 

Get Set Ready Go

This aims at organizing activities to prepare students for skills needed for employment. For example, mock interviews, preparing CVs, etc. Top

In this students are provided employment opportunities in the college simultaneously as they learn. Top

 

Promotion of Reading Habit

To encourage students to read an initiative is provided by way of awarding a prize to the student who reads the most number of books in a year and is able to present a written summary of each which will be scrutinized by a panel of experts. Top

 

Student Exchange Programme

As a part of this programme, students of the mass communication course of the college were taken to Solan, Himachal Pradesh and students from M. S. Pawar Institute visited our campus. Top
