The Hub for innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship was inaugurated with a pop-up bazaar for students - St. Xavier's College

The Inauguration of Hub and its activities took place by organising a pop-up bazaar for the students on the campus on 8th September 2018.  It was the first ever of its kind event and the opportunity was extended to individuals or group of students to try out their entrepreneurship skills. The event lasted half a day with 38 stalls put up by individuals or group of students, The talents the students displayed were exceptional. Students sold a variety of knick knacks from handmade earrings, paintings, embroidery, jewellery, First Aid kits, Mehendi art to sweets, desserts and savoury items. Afghani students of the College prepared and sold their delicacies. There was variety of entrepreneurship skills exhibited mostly hand-made items. At the end of the three hour event, students had done unforeseeably well, all making profits they would never have expected. Customers left the stalls thoroughly satisfied, with their only complaint being, “should do this more often”.  All in all, the event was a raging success and it taught the participants a little something about how a business should be run. Thus, the aim of the event was achieved.

The hub is guided by the following faculty members, Ms. Arena Frank, Dr. Ubaldine Noronha, Mr. Worrel D’Souza, Ms. Alia Agha and Dr. Vijay Viegas under the Coordinator Dr. Teotone Vaz.
