UGC-sponsored Minor Research Project titled, “Woman-Through the Lens of Religion’ was successfully completed by Ms. Shefali Kamat, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Philosophy. The project aimed at critiquing religion from a feministic perspective. The religions chosen for study the Semitic religions – Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Eastern religions – Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism. The area of thrust were exclusion of women from hierarchical positions of the clergy, spirituality and traditional roles of women in society.
